Where Am I Spiritually? ...Am I Saved?

I am obligated to examine my beliefs in light of God’s word

“Be diligent to present yourselves approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
- II Timothy 2:15

“Then the brethren immediately sent Paul and Silas away by night to Berea. When they arrived, they went into the synagogue of the Jews. These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so.”
- Acts 17:10-12

It is necessary to do things in God’s way
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord’, shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he that does the will of My Father in heaven.”
- Matthew 7:21

I must accept God’s word as sole authority in religion

“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
- II Timothy 3:16,17

“As His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue.”
- II Peter 1:3

The gospel of Christ ( New Testament) is the authority for man
“ For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.”
- Romans 1:16

By what will I be judged?

“ He who rejects Me, and does not receive my words, has that which judges him: the word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day.”
- John 12:48

Have I obeyed Christ by following His instructions?

I must hear the gospel of Christ

“ How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard?”
- Romans 10:14

“ So then faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.”
- Romans 10:17

I must believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God

“Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins: for if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins.”
- John 8:24

“But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”
- Hebrews 11:6

I must repent of all my past sins

“ I tell you, no: but unless you repent you will all likewise perish.”
- Luke 13:3

“ Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent.”
- Acts 17:30

I must confess my faith in Christ

“ Then Phillip said, ‘If you believe with all your heart, you may.’ And he answered and said,’ I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God’.”
- Acts 8:37

“ that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
- Romans 10:9.10

I must be baptized (immersed) for the remission of my sins

“ Then Peter said to them, ‘Repent and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sin; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”
- Acts 2:38

“There is an antitype with now save us—baptism—.”
- I Peter 3:21

“ And now why are you waiting? Arise and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord.”
- Acts 22:16

“ He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.”
- Mark 16:16

I must continue to render obedience to God in my daily life

“But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.”
- James: 1:25

“ And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight.”
- I John 3:22
