ARE YOU HEADED IN THE WRONG DIRECTION?
Have you ever been traveling to a certain destination and
upon closer examination of your map you found that you were headed in the wrong
direction. In Jude 11, Jude writes to those who are heading in the wrong
direction. "Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran
greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of
Core." I ask you, "Are you headed in the wrong direction?" In
order for you to answer that question let us ask and answer three important
questions from Jude 11.
I. ARE YOU HEADED THE WAY OF CAIN?
A. What is the way of Cain?
1. It is the way of worshipping incorrectly. Genesis 4:3-5; Hebrews 11:4; Romans 10:17
a. Most people today are under the impression that one can worship as he so chooses.b. The notion that one can join the church of his choice or be saved how he chooses.1. In Genesis 4 we see Cain offering to God the sacrifice of his choice.
2. What was God’s reaction to Cain’s offering?--rejection--John 4:24
c. You hear people today use such phrases as: "I think," "I believe," "It feels good," and "I like it"; but this does not change the teaching of God’s Word.

2. The way of Cain is the way of living incorrectly.
a. I John 3:12
b. Isaiah 1:4, 11-15
B. Are you headed the way of Cain? If you are you are heading in the wrong direction.
II. ARE YOU HEADED THE WAY OF BALAAM.
A. What is the way of Balaam? Jude 11; II Peter 2:15,16
1. The way of Balaam is the way of covetousness. II Peter 2:3
2. The Word of God teaches us that we must avoid covetousness.
a. Mark 7:22,23
b. Luke 12:15c. Ephesians 5:3
d. Colossians 3:5,6
e. Hebrews 13:5

III. ARE YOU HEADED THE WAY OF KORAH?
A. What is the way of Korah. Numbers 16
1. The way of Korah is the way of rebelling against the authority of God.
2. Everybody ought to have the attitude of the Psalmist in Psalm 119:89
a. God said it and that should settle it for us.
b. His Word is to be the sole authority. II Tim. 3:16,17; Col. 3:17; II Peter 1:3
1. We are neither to add to nor take from His Word. Rev. 22:18,19
2. In spite of this warning people still rebel against the authority of God’s Word.

b. Matthew 15:1-9
